On Sunday 13 March 2022 at 4 PM, in the crypt of the Blessed Virgin Mary cathedral in Belgrade, the 14th anniversary of the death of Chiara Lubich will be commemorated with a joint initiative of the Focolare Movement and the Archdiocese of Belgrade. On this occasion we wish to remember Chiara, who in her courageous life brought to fulfillment the charisma that God had given to her: the universal brotherhood, believing that "LOVE WINS EVERYTHING". Even today, her example continues to inspire people of all social origins, ages, faiths, nationalities.
The commemoration, which will essentially take place in Serbian language, will also include the screening of the movie "Chiara Lubich - L'amore vince tutto" (Chiara Lubich - Love Wins Everything), in its original language (Italian) with subtitles in Serbian.
Chiara Lubich (January 22, 1920 – March 14, 2008) is the founder of the Focolare Movement, which is present in 182 countries and promotes the spirituality of unity. Its goal is to contribute towards the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer: “May they all be one” (Jn 17:21).
Chiara, a great charismatic figure of our times, is well known for her tireless work to increase communion, fraternity and peace among people of different Churches, with followers of various world religions and with people who have no religious belief.
The spirit of the Focolare Movement aims at promoting a new lifestyle also in the civil field, as for example, in economics and in politics.
